Trust in You

I've been off the grid a bit the last couple of months. Honestly, I have been going through a lot of things and have been trying to handle a lot of it on my own. But...I forget sometimes, just like we all do, that I am only mortal. I am not meant to carry all of my stress and burdens alone.

I am "that person" for a lot of people. You know the one. That person who is there for everyone whenever and however they are needed. You listen, give advice, run to the aid, attend events and gatherings, are a shoulder, are the first to hear of problems, are look at to solve problems, are the apology maker, the hard-truth giver...you are that person for many people. You either are that person or you probably have one in your life. To be that person you have to have a lot of trust. For me, a lot of people trust me for a lot of things and sometimes I don't feel like I can do it all. Sometimes I feel like I'm drowning in chaos and stress. I get anxious and I doubt my own abilities...but what I am really doing is I am doubting God. God has a plan for all of us. I often have to remind myself that He has a plan for me and these tasks that are being piled on are not to stress me out, the world is not out to get me, the people in my life are not taking advantage of me. I am a vessel. I am here to be "that person" and I cannot be that person without trust in God. I just watched a sermon I missed last Sunday and man do I wish I had been there. The pastor talked about trust. He opened up about something in his life and with his own lesson her was able to teach an important lesson that God tries to teach us all the time. 2 Chronicles 20:12

...For we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, our eyes are on you. What do you do when you feel powerless? How do you talk to God when you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders? Do you talk to Him at all? How do you respond to and treat other people? How do you treat yourself? In this scripture a great battle is forged and Jehoshaphat does not know what to do. He does not think he can conquer the great armies against him. What does he do? He praises God. He looks to God. And God tells him, through Jahaziel - 2 Chronicles 20:15-17

And he said, “Listen, all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says the Lord to you, ‘Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not yours but God's. Tomorrow go down against them. Behold, they will come up by the ascent of Ziz. You will find them at the end of the valley, east of the wilderness of Jeruel. You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.’ Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, and the Lord will be with you." We often forget that God has our backs. It is up to us, though, to trust in Him; to call upon His name. "There is power in the name Jesus". Whenever you are dismayed, just lift your troubles. When others share their troubles lift their worries up to God for them. You do not have to carry the weight of the world. That is God's job and He wants us to lift our worries to HIm to help us handle it all. Call on Him and He will answer back. 2 Chronicles 20:21

...Give thanks to the Lord, for His steadfast love endures forever.
